When we view the demonic only in terms of personal possession (eg the exorcist) we become blind to the ways powers and principalities shape our lives through individuals, ideologies, and institutions that deceive us, form us to depersonalize others & find joy in division.

Do you need your own personal angel to assist you? Nope. Not if you have the Holy Spirit. I try to stay in my lane, but when a prominent televangelist turned presidential advisor turns to Exodus, it's my lane. Exodus 23 is not about you. christianitytoday.com/2025/03/paula-…

Until the Church consistently leads people to the wilderness (i.e. prayer, solitude, silence, reflection, repentance, etc.) to confront our own demons, we will project our demons back out into the world, and fail to see that some demons in the world are reflections of ourselves.

It’s incredibly challenging when Christians on various sides think the other side is delusional, blind, trapped, etc. How do we know who is being faithful to God? The litmus test I believe is: Cruciform love. Living the Beatitudes. The Sermon on the Mount. That’s how we know.

I'm a big advocate for preaching teams because the lead pastor needs to sit under the proclaimed word of God just like everyone else.
