Briar Cliff University, a private Catholic college, offered Theology of Harry Potter my freshman year (before Rowling went nuts), and it was a great experience! The work encouraged us to be more social with classmates and to expand our critical thinking. This sounds just as fun!

IOWA SPEEDWAY FLASHBACK: Back in 2019, the IndyCar race was delayed by rain. I vividly remember it flooded some sections of the infield after a traffic cone blocked the drain. There were a handful of cars half-submerged underwater. Let's hope that doesn't happen again!

Tornado warning here in Newton until 3:15 p.m. I can hear the sirens going off. I live about 2.5 miles from the airport/Iowa Speedway so I imagine the folks at the racetrack are hopefully finding shelter right now.

Me to everyone talking tornado: "Um, actually..." 🤓 I've got confirmation from EMA and NWS saying a tornado DID NOT TOUCH DOWN in Newton yesterday. There was a strong rotating wall cloud on the storm. But the cloud feature underneath the base of the cloud was a "scud cloud."

Despite having a devastating qualifier and having to start the race in the 27th spot, McLaughlin has climbed his way to 5th with only 44 laps to go! Insane.

I'm at Iowa Speedway with my guy Troy Hyde (who is doing the real coverage) and he's made me aware that there is a King of the Hill car for the Xfinity/Cup Series races, driven by Joey Gase. While Troy may not be a believer, I'd bet my best pen Joey wins it all I tell ya what.

My boy, THE Joey Gase, is out there qualifying with the King of the Hill on Hulu car. My fellow reporter Troy Hyde at Newton News Sports does not believe Gase has what it takes to take the big win. I beg to differ, I tell ya what. Dang ol' Joey Gase is gonna surprise all of you.
