Oh Spotlight 😔 so disappointing to see the new tiers of membership & people being priced out…& for the new, almost £300 a year, membership you get a 24hr health/well-being helpline? But not if you can’t afford it? Pls clarify if I’m wrong but this is what it looks like…1/2

In these times of crisis I can’t believe we have actors worried they are going to miss out on work because Spotlight are promoting a near £300 premiere membership. How can this be fair? Are actors only paying £183 not going to be taken seriously? Genuinely upset by this.

Not sure I'm comfortable with the 2-tier Spotlight membership thing. I need to look at the details cause that email this afternoon was a bit of a surprise but in an industry allegedly championing diversity and accessibility this doesn't sit right 😕👎

I mean Spotlight putting a "premiere membership", giving artists with more money better communication & connections to an already elitist industry. PLEASE all casting directors and professionals, just don't reply. Make it worthless so they scrap it.

Sarah Leigh (she/her) Spotlight Working class or not, it forces a sense of elitism. At worst you'll only be thought of as worthy of consideration if you foot the bill for the top membership. Add recording kit for self tapes, quality broadband, websites, subs to other job finding sites. #cashcows exploitation.

Announcement Spotlight encapsulates everything that is wrong w/ the industry. The more £ u have, the better chances of success. We already suffer financial inequality, cost of living crisis, significant barriers to entry. What possible justification can you have for this?

As if Spotlight wasn’t already a huge cost to users, a new premium option being released is just insulting. So out of touch in a #costoflivingcrisis; has the service improved in 10+ years? They have cornered the market. Preying on people in an oversaturated industry. Equity

🔈 A message for Equity members We share the frustration of many members at new Spotlight tiered membership. We recommend no Equity member takes out ‘Premier membership’ until we understand the reasons for the change, & Council has discussed casting policy this November.
