Happy to share our new invited review on cell-based modeling in cancer, in ASCO's JCO Clinical Cancer Informatics. We include curated collections at ScienceOpen, making it a living review. Nicely done, John Metzcar, @YafeiWang89, and Randy Heiland! ascopubs.org/doi/full/10.12…

And here comes the (obligatory) plug for Chaste Development, and test-driven development - check out the tutorials and wiki GitHub.com/Chaste
5. We use a cell-based vertex model using Chaste Development to confirm that a tangential apical force, as provided by shear stress, can result both in the reported bias in cell shape and in the observed elongating outgrowth.
If you're interested in multiscale modelling of multicellular tissues, I've written a short piece with James Osborne on some of the ongoing challenges associated with doing this: preprints.org/manuscript/202…
Thank you for including our recent preprint ➡️doi.org/10.1101/2020.1… in this week's #mathonco newsletter Jeffrey West 😊 Here's a video from our preprint on colonic #crypt evolution produced with Chaste Development. 🟡wild-type 🔵MMR-def. ⚪️APC+/- ⚫️APC-/- cells
David Strutt and I may have money for a postdoc modeller for 6-9 months, starting soon. Some planar polarity, some growth, some Chaste Development. Please contact me for details, or forward to anyone who might be interested. Thanks!
🎉 Our new combined experimental and modelling paper of cytoneme-mediated tissue patterning in zebrafish brains is out! 🥳 Simulations powered by Chaste Development 🦾
"Seven challenges in the multiscale modeling of multicellular tissues", my review/opinion piece with James Osborne, is now published online: onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.10… (Special thanks to anonymous reviewer 2 for suggesting 7 additional references, all featuring the same author)
Chaste Development we are organising a virtual meeting (1st July) to develop a support network for all Students and Post-Docs using (cell-based) Chaste. If you want to join and get involved sign up! DM for queries. forms.gle/K14RRLqUKp3bs6…
After a nice talk on cytoneme-mediated patterning by Kyle Wedgwood (what a nice application of Chaste Development!) we conclude the morning with a tour de force by Andrew Krause: some modern challenges in pattern formation (featuring Turing cats 🐈)
Interested in #spatial dynamics of cells and their #chemical environment? Check out this new tool developed by our great PhD student Connah Johnson ! biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Reminder that David Strutt and I have a PhD studentship available, blending modelling and experiments to understand tissue patterning in a fluctuating environment findaphd.com/phds/project/b…
🚨 Chaste workshop registration open now! We'll be holding a Chaste workshop, focussed on our new individual-cell based models and python bindings, at Uni of Nottingham #WeAreUoN Jan 8-10th 2025. Some travel funding available. Apply today! chaste.github.io/workshops/2025…
Last chance to register for the 8-10th January cell based Chaste modelling workshop Nottingham CMMB - applications close Friday: chaste.github.io/workshops/2025…
