This morning, I welcomed our city's workforce leaders to Malcolm X College for the Chicagoland Workforce Development Symposium. Through hands-on training, scholarships/grants, & more, City Colleges of Chicago is proud to play a key role in preparing Chicagoans to succeed in the workforce.

Our City Colleges of Chicago tech students shared their stories with Governor JB Pritzker & State Sen. Javier Cervantes today. Thanks to their leadership on the new iGROW program, future tech students will have increased financial support as they prepare for in-demand careers.

Starting in January, IDoIT's IT Trainee Program is coming to Harold Washington College. We look forward to adding this partnership to our robust workforce training programs in the IT sector. Thank you to Governor JB Pritzker and team for creating this pathway to public sector careers in tech.

"I enrolled in classes at Richard J. Daley College and opened a box filled with resources." Congratulations and good luck, Lashaunta! The Chicago Sun-Times is lucky to have a Richard J. Daley College alumna on their team, and we can all learn from your life hacks.

Looking for a new job? Don't miss the Citywide Hiring Fairs taking place at City Colleges of Chicago campuses this weekend & next. Thanks to Alderwoman Jeanette Taylor & team for organizing these events all across the city. chicagocrusader.com/city-colleges-…

Looking forward to helping Cook County Government kick off this event at Malcolm X College tomorrow. Job seekers: There's still time to register!

Looking for a new job? Don't miss the Citywide Hiring Fairs this Saturday (10/28) from 10am-2pm at Harold Washington College, Kennedy-King College, Wilbur Wright College, or Olive-Harvey College. Thanks to Alderwoman Jeanette Taylor for leading the effort & to the employers who came out last weekend for the first events.

Our city's faith leaders help connect Chicagoans to a variety of key resources, including education. Today, Pedro Martinez and I had the privilege of discussing our offerings and partnership with dozens of those faith leaders. Thank you to Mayor Brandon Johnson for joining us as well!

This increase reflects City Colleges of Chicago efforts to create a welcoming & supportive environment for students & offer clear pathways to transfer & careers. Chicagoans continue to recognize that our quality, affordable education can prepare them for a highly-skilled & diverse world.

Many students start in free ESL and/or HS diploma prep classes at City Colleges of Chicago before they transition into college credit classes. Our Adult Education partners help make those success stories possible. Thanks to all of the partners who gathered with us at Kennedy-King College today!

Terrific visit with City Colleges of Chicago Chancellor Salgado at the One Million Degrees & City Colleges Corporate Breakfast in City of Chicago! Leadership gratitude to you & the Olive-Harvey College Team, as the next #Aviation Tech Class starts 1/16 with a special Info Session rolling on 11/18:) RT

Providing volunteer coach mentors are a key part of how One Million Degrees supports City Colleges of Chicago students. It was a pleasure to meet with local employers today to invite them to coach, mentor, and hire our students. Apply to become a coach at: onemilliondegrees.tfaforms.net/296649

Out of all the community colleges in Illinois, a Richard J. Daley College student was chosen as this year's Lincoln Academy IL student laureate! The Daley College community is a stronger, more connected place thanks to David and his leadership.

Our greatest ambassadors are the ones who are experiencing our colleges for themselves. We had a great meeting with this year's City Colleges of Chicago student ambassadors today. These students are leaders on campus and in their communities.

Through our Chicago Roadmap partnership with CPS - Chicago Public Schools, we're in our 2nd year of connecting students to youth apprenticeships. Like Lauren said, Career Launch Chicago gives students the chance to explore their career options—even before they finish high school! #NAW2023

When we support our students, we support our city. City Colleges of Chicago is proud to be Chicago's most accessible higher education engine of socioeconomic mobility and racial equity – empowering all Chicagoans to take part in building a stronger and more just city.

Scholarships are a powerful tool in education. They allow our City Colleges of Chicago students to focus on succeeding in their classes—not on how they are going to pay for them. #GivingTuesday

Starting this January, IDoIT will launch a paid IT Trainee Program at Harold Washington College. City Colleges of Chicago is proud to work with Governor JB Pritzker and his administration to provide more opportunities for students to succeed in our state's fast-growing tech industry.
