The proposed changes to Pharmacy in the 10YP have almost gone unnoticed (well, not on the MedTwitter). But I think these are MONUMENTAL. To the point of completely resetting who a pharmacist is and what they do. 1/

🚨 Yesterday, the government pushed through the Universal Credit (UC) Bill. And disabled people will pay the price. Here's what you need to know 🧵

Disabled people, neurodivergent people, people with a mental illness dx, asylum seekers, are key targets of Parliament and MSM. It's the most sustained attack with increasing viciousness that we have seen over the last decade

health wards. Most of my day to day work is dealing with patient's physical health problems that are poorly controlled. Homelessness in mental health patients is extremely common as is substance misuse. In poorer areas problems stack up even more. Not sure why all of this is?

It’s called the social determinants of health✔️ Poverty, inequality & shite housing etc✔️ *Some might suggest it’s a political choice

Multiple exclusion homelessness - many are excluded from mainstream CMHTs because they don't have an address, find it tricky to produce ID to register with a GP, cost of good nutrition is high, poor mental health exacerbates substance use, I could go on...

So, my occupational therapy today. I washed and dried a load, separately. I emptied a dishwasher and put the contents away. In other news, I can shower and dress myself. I long since have needed neither nappy nor catheter. I can get into a car. And I can walk again, unaided. I/2

A mum & her disabled daughter who were left dead for ‘weeks or months’ could have been saved if an ambulance was sent when the mum called, a coroner says. Mum Alphonsine died of pneumonia while her daughter Loraine died of malnutrition & dehydration. RIP 🙏🏾bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

A disabled man has chosen to stop taking life-saving medication because it is too hard to get health and social care This is the system we're introducing assisted suicide into. Are we ashamed yet? bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

Been in hospital 24 hrs. Still in clothes I arrived in; haven’t brushed my teeth or been able to as medical assessment is basic. Have explained accessibility needs, and have had to push to locate the accessible toilet! No offer of help to shower, or given washing facilities.

I spoke to ITV London about the planned closure of the Northwick Park hydrotherapy pool Losing access to hydro means many will lose access to rehab entirely. Worsening pain, disability & deepening health inequalities Hydro isn’t a luxury. It’s essential 🎥 #Hydrotherapy #Rehab
