An interesting weekend of ☔️ & 🦆 . Neither side completed a game on Saturday (despite strong debut 2-fer for Matthias vs Whiteley Village CC). On Sunday Gatesy and Ricky exited the duck club against Norwood Exiles CC. Still 14 non-duckers in the draw as we face Merstham Cricket Club 🏏💫 this Weds.

Cracking effort against a strong and friendly Merstham Cricket Club 🏏💫 T20 side. Good team batting saw us post 158, followed up by a great performance in the field. Ward Jr’s swinging yorkers, Nurse Jr’s double wicket maiden and a blinding catch from Nurse Sr saw us home by 40 runs. 👏🏻

A weekend of 💯: 2s skipper Ant scored 101 to set a target of 264, setting up a win by 121 runs. In the 1s a pair of 💯 partnerships (Miller/Gates - Wood/Bunyan) saw 270 set. A tricky defence on a small boundary, but House Jr led the attack with 4-fer to see us home. #40points

Frustrating weekend: 2nd XI at Morden Cricket Club abandoned without a ball bowled, same for Sunday vs ChipsteadCricket. A reduced game vs Hook & Southborough on Saturday saw a 7 wkt stroll for the 1s, & back to back wins. Skipper Owen taking the field with a warm cuppa sums up the conditions!

Cracking weekend coming up. We will have *FOUR* senior sides turning out, two strong league sides on Saturday and a great range of players young and old, slow and fast(ish), on Sunday. Have fun and go well all!

Scenes! Two Sat wins in similar games: Mowen dismantled Morden Cricket Club (6-5) & House Jr took 4-29 vs EnglefieldGreenCC. Chasing small totals Zac hit 62* and Charlie 75* in two 8 wkt wins. On Sun the 1s won by 60 and although the 2s narrowly lost, the ‘lads & dads’ game had fun for all. 💚 💛 ❤️

A max 40 point day again. Our irrepressible 1s bowling attack blew Kenley Cricket Club away, reducing them to 13/5. A few wobbles, but Hoppers saw us home. In the 2s a stodgy team batting performance was baled out by the striking of Tim T, supported by top spells from Matthias & IO.

Wadda weekend. 40 points, and a Sunday win to follow our legendary win vs Reigate Priory Cricket Club on Tuesday night in the Surrey Slam (well batted Charlie). Alex & Robin took amazing 5-fers to roll Ham & Petersham Cricket Club for just 41. The sun is definitely back out at Caterham!

What a T20 win vs Limpsfield Chart Cricket Club. A strong 176/6, anchored by Nursey Jr (again!) with 30 from 15, icing applied by Marchy (see below) with a riotous 27 from 9. In reply we took regular wkts, & Marchy top again with 2/20 as we won by 37 runs. Bring on the semi on 1st Sept. #slam

A cracking night of ducks, dropped catches, smashed sixes and sunny fun at Hill Fields. Caterham Cricket Club hosted Old Caterhamians RFC. We won by 30 odd, with unbeaten 50s from our JB and Willo for the rugby boys. Finished with burgers and beers in the bar, what an evening!

Alex J continued his stellar season with another unplayable spell (9-4-9-5) at Chaldon CMO CC. Great knocks from Zac and Sam set up a large chase, and was too much. Sadly, the 2s lost by 10 runs in a table topping tussle to Whiteley Village CC, suckered out by slow and v slow bowling. 😢

Decent weekend, overall. 1s secured runners up with an 8 wkt win against EnglefieldGreenCC, followed by a 6 wicket win vs Stoke D'Abernon in Surrey Slam on Sun. Zac J smashed 51* (8x4), chasing down the total Matt Mc and Marchy’s 3-fers set up. Next stop? Final at the Oval on Sat 21/9.
