I recently led a Designing Inclusive Syllabi workshop at my uni. We focused on 6 areas based on the work of DR. VIJI SATHY @DrMrsKellyHogan Isis Artze-Vega @Flowerdarby Bryan Dewsbury & Mays Imad. Here's the checklist I shared! #HigherEd #FacDev #EdDev docs.google.com/document/d/1Uf…
A new study coauthored by @djphysicswebb and published in Physical Review PER shines a light on how to make introductory physics education more equitable: lettersandscience.ucdavis.edu/news/tweaking-… #STEMeducation #physics
In case it helps, this is my latest piece for The Washington Post, "The Answer Sheet" (via Valerie Strauss) -- It's on why we'd turn zeroes on the 100-point scale into 50's and the need to re-think our grading practices. It's meant for both educator and general public use.
The largest public university system in the U.S., The CSU is strong and successful because of their hardworking faculty and staff. I stand with California Faculty Association and Teamsters Local 2010 and urge CSU to bargain in good faith to deliver higher base salaries and better conditions. #CFAProud
CA has the biggest & best public university system in the nation because of our faculty. They deserve fair contracts with better salaries & benefits that honor their outstanding work. I'm proud to stand with members of California Faculty Association & Teamsters Local 2010 on strike! #CFAFacultyRising
The The CSU is the path to the California dream for millions of students across our state. This is only possible thanks to our hard working faculty and staff. I stand with California Faculty Association and Teamsters Local 2010 in their fight for fair pay, workload, and benefits.
Despite the rain, we had a great turnout for day 1 of the California Faculty Association strike! I would rather be prepping for the semester but I appreciated picketing with my my physics, biology, chemistry, math, computer science, engineering, and english faculty colleagues out there today!
