Gay’s the Word bookshop opened in 1979 and is a legendary LGBTQ+ bookshop in London. Raided in 1984 by HM Customs, it survived thanks to a community campaign. It also served as one of the meeting places for Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners. Happy #PrideMonth2025! 🏳️‍🌈

News from the council's planning portal here in #Scarborough, is that the application for the erection of 135no. dwellings on the site of the former technical college has been withdrawn. The college buildings, that are of architectural merit, are safe.
