Some of said compelling reasons I oppose digital ID: 1. Most obviously, that means your shitposts [or activism, or jokes] are attached to your full legal name. I find this undesirable for patently clear reasons, you thought "getting cancelled" was bad before? Holy shit.

2. Any data you submit in an effort to verify your age [as digital ID] will almost instantly be sold to marketing/advertising firms. Most sites claim they won't retain this data at all, but we know that this is false in 99.99% of cases. They will retain it and sell it.

3. Since said data will be retained and likely sold, I'd give it about a month before a MASSIVE data breach takes place except now instead of only having your e-mail address/phone number/etc., the attackers will now have your full legal name, address, SSN, photographs, etc.

We fucking know with 100% certainty that no matter what they claim, these companies/platforms and sites WILL retain your verification data for digital ID and it WILL be sold off to the highest bidder, get leaked or be the target of hackers, in reality, likely all three.

So, no, digital ID is a retarded fucking idea whether it has anything to do with porn or not. I oppose it wholeheartedly. Why should all of us bear the cost of shitty, inattentive and irresponsible parenting? And that's precisely what it is, too.

"Concerned" parents want the govt. to step in and do their job for them, whereas if they were actually concerned they would use parental controls, content filtering and monitoring options/applications which have existed for just about as long as the PC itself has.
