Twenty years ago, the musical “Good Vibrations” played at the Eugene O’Neil Theatre in New York City on Broadway. Music by The Beach Boys was featured, as well as Brian’s solo, “Your Imagination.” Here’s Brian with the “Surfer Girls” cast.

This week in 1964, The Beach Boys released their fifth album, Shut Down Volume 2. Produced by Brian, the album contained classics like “Fun, Fun, Fun,” “Don’t Worry Baby, and “The Warmth of the Sun.” What’s your favorite track?

Brian and band backstage during the 50th Anniversary tour of Pet Sounds. Rolling Stone said these shows helped establish the now-ubiquitous practice of artists playing "classic albums" in their entirety. Who was there?

Today in 1966, Brian released "Caroline, No" as a single. It would later appear as the closing track on Pet Sounds.

50 years ago today, The Beach Boys released their eighth studio album, The Beach Boys Today! Featuring a newer and more orchestral sound, Side One contains uptempo tracks, while Side Two consists mostly of introspective ballads. Brian’s influences, drawn from Phil Spector.
