We are thrilled to share our new work published in Nature today reporting a long-sought peroxisomal retrotranslocation channel formed by a ubiquitin ligase complex. Phenomenal work by our postdocs Peiqiang Feng, Xudong Wu and collaborators. nature.com/articles/s4158…

New preprint from the lab, and I’m super excited about this one! Our key finding? We discovered that the #nuclearreceptor PPARγ LBD and AF-1 domains physically interact! Read on for more biorxiv.org/content/10.110… 1/

I had to drive to California to get this one. My clearest image of Saturn, at it's closest to Earth. Captured from the roof of a parking garage after driving all day.

This video by Alex Ritter, PhD shows an immune cell called a T cell (purple) approaching and attaching to a cancer cell (teal). The T cell tries to kill the cancer cell by secreting a toxin (red wave), but the cancer cell survives. Follow this thread to see how this battle ends. ⬇️

I found this creamer in our faculty fridge. It has been expired for almost 12 years now (!?). I don't think I can throw it away, since it definitely has tenure at this point

Excited to share results on fitting protein structures to density maps with diffusion models! Our setup uses priors from language models and simultaneously predicts the structure and fits the atomic model to densities, with zero pre- or post-processing. (1/3)

New preprint with amazing result that histone-fold proteins from bacteria form a sheath around linear DNA rather than wrapping DNA around a core like eukaryotic and archaeal histones. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
