Shelter hotel residents are often afraid to speak out about their conditions, which is why our testimonies here are often anonymous. This is one extreme example of the sort of punitive actions staff regularly take against us

The sign posted up at @NovotelTO, now fully cleared. Anyone calling the Central Intake number recommended can expect to be put on hold for an hour, and then informed there are no spaces available

So it's currently -3°C (-8°C with the windchill), there's snow on the ground and what is the City of Toronto 🇨🇦 doing? Destroying people's homes. This is a daily, on-going battle. 200 unique callers per day calling into Central intake are being told there are no indoor spaces.

Do you believe that housing should be a human right? That quality of life and safety is a right and not a privilege? The City of Toronto 🇨🇦 doesn't share that belief. They're spending millions of dollars to destroy the only homes people have. Signing this could help stop that.
