There has been some confusion regarding what the law does change and doesn’t change. New law still states August 1 as the date date for 5 yr olds to enroll in Kindergarten. It also still states a school corp MAY have an appeal process.

Sunman-Dearborn Community Schools will continue to use the same appeal screening process for students interested in attending K this year who are not 5 by August 1. Please contact your elementary school principal for more details.

Governor Holcomb just ordered all schools close until May 1st. The administrative team has been meeting regularly to develop various contingency plans.

Our plan will be released to parents tomorrow, including our plan for providing continuity of instruction, learning, and food service. Thank you for your patience as we waited to finalize plans until after the Governor's order. Please begin making childcare arrangements.
