It’s good to know the powerful United States economy depends on public schools. Now explain why public schools have to hold fundraisers, bake sales, and have students donate Kleenex.

As school begins around the country, I hope districts show as much grace and support to their admin and teachers as they expect them to show students. Please don't overload or overwhelm them. Teams encourage and look out for each other.

The truth is, we do not have the will as a country to make the relatively tiny sacrifices (masks, no huge gatherings) to make this pandemic go away. That is why we just passed 5 million cases. That is why we can't resume normal lives.

Schools can’t expect teachers to work 60-70 hrs per week, but then say self care is important.
