Considering she’s visiting HBCUs, shouldn’t she get some credit if Black turnout is strong (considering it was down in 2024) & the Dem candidate over-performs…? And, wasn’t everyone just yelling at her bc she wasn’t out helping Dems trying to campaign & win the messaging war?

There’s gotta be a way Dems can use this in an ad this coming election cycle. It’ll be like a reverse Willie Horton…

Something about one has not only a legal but a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws… 🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️🤷🏾‍♂️

New Emerson College Polling survey has Newsom above the entire field - including Harris. Not too surprising considering the demographics of Nevada. But, please refrain from using this poll, which ONLY has N=55 for Black respondents, to say anything at all about Black support.

THERE ARE ONLY 55 BLACK PEOPLE!!! I repeat, there are only 55 Black people in the ENTIRE poll. Please don’t use this as any measure of Black support for the candidates or ANYTHING else.

Hey, check this out! The post on the left shows a poll about how #blackvoters feel regarding the potential 2028 Presidential candidates. From what I see, it seems like #KamalaHarris isn't very popular among black folks in #Nevada, which is pretty concerning! Thank God for

I’m guessing a *certain* demographic leveled this critique against Harris because most Black people felt favorable toward “Harris campaigning w/Cheney” & “promising” to appoint GOP in her admin (48% & 46% respectively) - if nothing else, Black people appreciate bipartisanship.

So if you go back and look at the '08 polling, Obama closed the deal with the AA community in South Carolina after he won Iowa. The point is the AA vote cares about winning.

Honestly, it doesn’t matter who the nominee is - even if it is Harris (Donna names everyone EXCEPT Harris in this “open season”), if the Democrats can’t get Black voters engaged early & often it’s gonna be hard to win swing states like PA, MI & WI, let alone GA, NC & even NV.

While not surprising, it’s truly unfortunate that we are again seeing inferences made about Black voters from HORRIBLE data with small, unrepresentative Black samples. This is where the entirely false narrative about 20-30% Black support for Trump came from & here we are again…

After the election of the first Black man to the White House, conservatives were determined to make our country less democratic…and we are witnessing the fruits of their labor.

See what happens when you get just a slightly larger sample of Black voters…Harris is once again the top choice (assuming a sample of Black people at 12% of the pop, with N=3,426, that yields ~400 Black Dems). Crazy how the quickly narrative changes from Newsom w/better data.

If you’ve studied politics even a little you know “electability” basically means the LEAST likely to upset the status quo - so, no surprise three straight white men top the list. But the same poll shows Black voters still prefer Harris, so they’ll have to be convinced otherwise.

While this finding isn’t new, it’s not that Pete really has ZERO support, it’s more that most of the data on Black people is really really bad…and data can’t say much of anything at all. As soon as you get a larger (not to mention representative) sample you get better results.

If Dems really want to mobilize Black voters, they need to center the threat to voting rights & offer solutions to an extreme right-wing court. Black confidence in the court has declined since Shelby v Holder (2013) gutted the VRA & Black voters remain skeptical of SCOTUS today.
