Whoa. Per Blind Landing Podcast FIG ghosted them and the pres of the Athletes Commission said they couldn’t answer questions in the floor final. There seemingly was no WAG athletes rep at the Paris Olympics.

The Blind Landing podcast just put out a new story looking into multiple potential violations by the FIG of their own policies. We spoke with a US Congressman, an Olympic gymnast, a high level judge & a sports business expert about the FIG’s missteps. Here’s what we found (1/x)

Professor Prof Andrea Geurin says that the Olympic Charter expects the FIG to ensure “the protection of athletes from all forms of harassment... and it feels like the FIG is not upholding that," because the FIG has yet to support the floor final gymnasts facing online harassment

The FIG’s actions might also violate the FIG’s own Safeguarding policies, explicitly include “online” harassment, warning that "misuse of power by people in positions of trust, influence, and authority" and "inaction" could fuel harassment, "even where no harm is intended."
