Lifting up Dr. Diaz's name as a Filipino-Pohnpeian scholar from Guam and an immovable bridge in Critical Indigenous/Pasifika studies. He also received his PhD in History of Consciousness from UC Santa Cruz: a program that graduated numerous of our beloved revolutionary thinkers

You can’t talk about AAPI Heritage Month without talking about AAPI History and you can’t talk about AAPI History without talking about Palestine.

I love being a PhD student. it feels like I’m expected to be miserable or overwhelmed. but as a first-gen student, I’ve had to overcome a lot worse to get here. to read and write and learn for a living feels like a gift that I hope I never take for granted, inshallah 🙏🏽

The AQ issue is here! 🚀 "We Are Not American, Still (and Maybe You're Not, Either)." Includes a fresh take on rethinking Asian settler colonialism, co-authored with my mentor & friend Davi Pōmaika'i McGregor. Grateful to learn & write with this pathbreaking scholar. #LandBack⬇️

Really appreciate this exploration of the changing political economy in Hawai'i throughout history to critique current theorizations on Asian settler colonialism scholarship.

Daghang salamat to my UMN American Studies department for this recognition. This dissertation chapter draft allowed me to unpack what it means when people say, “Don’t Hang With Those Kalihi Kids.” It’s in this unpacking that, I argue, disrupts popular imaginations of Hawai‘i as “paradise.”
