Core: We're gonna do something REALLY BAD. The exact opposite of what we should do: let's attack Bitcoin! Bitcoin: You're fired! Core: Clearly the issue is public relations. People shouldn't be allowed to expose us or complain!

On one side of the OP_RETURN debate, you have Ethereum sympathizers, butthurt Counterparty alums, devs who can't fix simple bugs, devs who accidentally programmed inflation bugs into Bitcoin, and people who want tail emissions on Bitcoin. On the other side, you have a dev who

Narrative evolution in the political battle to undermine Bitcoin as a monetary network: 1. There's no such thing as "spam" in Bitcoin. Transactions are either valid or invalid. 2. OK spam exists and it's a problem but it'll get priced out by genuine monetary activity. 3. OK

Note: When Core 30 comes you will not be able to gloss over the change from PR 32406 by just changing datacarriersize to 83 as it has now been intentionally broken and doesn't work the way it used to in Core 29x and prior all the way back to 2014. And running older versions of

No matter where you stand on Knot vs. Core (or any other implementation), one thing should be celebrated: having multiple Bitcoin clients. No healthy ecosystem should rely on a single, monopolistic software base. No group of developers is incorruptible, and history shows

Be careful out there... The bad actors are now attacking individual Knots nodes. If you have data limits, pay a visit to the maxuploadtarget option (in the GUI under Options -> Network tab -> Try to keep upload traffic under ____ MiB per day - only in Knots)

Contentious changes to bitcoin core, including non consensus changes, are a ddos on anyone building applications. When people 100% confident they are smarter than you act desperately to try to get you to run new code & when they present very weak technical arguments, think twice!

I think their parents should limit their online social media time. A group of 12 year olds like this need better supervision and boundaries. Who knows what they will become when they grow up 🤷‍♂️

Finally an admission from Adam that he disagrees with Core’s actions here. It has been deprecated for v30. That code has been merged to master branch. Easy enough to go check. So, in conclusion, Adam disagrees with what Core has done.
