This is great news. I had the pleasure of learning about Brent's teaching & learning innovation in 2014. In 2014 Brent was selected as a #STLHE #D2L #Innovation in Teaching & Learning Award recipient. Exciting to see him recognized for his leadership in teaching & learning!

Another STLHE D2L Innovation in Teaching & Learning Award recipient is recognized for her dedication to teaching & learning. That's Dr. Aleksandra Zecevic. She's a 2020 3M Teaching Fellow! In 2015 she received the #STLHE #D2L award for her work in community engaged learning.

Particularly pleased about Dr. Brent Mainprize & Dr. Aleksandra Zecevic being recognized with 3M National Teaching Fellowships - I previously supported the #STLHE #D2L Innovation in Teaching & Learning Award and learned about some of their accomplishments earlier in their career.

I was reading my twitter profile... Apparently one of my interests is #dinosaurs yet I almost never tweet about them. And I do really love dinosaurs... so check out this hummingbird sized dinosaur: sciencenews.org/article/ancien…

Please see below our plan to complete the term online Carleton University. I am aware that these measures will cause inconvenience & disruption, but the safety of our community is our priority. Many thanks everyone for adapting to these challenging circumstances. newsroom.carleton.ca/2020/covid-19-…

Carleton has cancelled classes on March 16 and 17 to help prepare for alternative forms of instruction on March 18. Carleton University Teaching & Learning Services has resources available to support instructors with help to teach online. carleton.ca/teachinglearni… and carleton.ca/culearnsupport…

To my educator colleagues Carleton University - I am thinking of you. You've had to adapt so quickly to support students. Thank you for caring about their success. If you need help -Carleton University Teaching & Learning Services is here. Reach out to us [email protected].

Also to my educator colleagues Carleton University - as you think of the classes and learning that remains - consider taking a moment to reflect on the challenges your students might be facing. Some of them are moving, are worried about employment, finances, loved ones & their courses.

I went upstairs to refresh my coffee - just before taking a sip, I noted that my coffee had a beautiful crema... and then discovered that my son had replaced the coffee in the pot with cherry coke. A proud "Gotcha daddy!" was yelled out by him. Every year he gets me! #AprilFools

This is live now! youtube.com/watch?v=0ZlNgZ… Some pretty sophisticated things happening behind the scenes from the Music faculty and staff as well as the staff from Carleton University Teaching & Learning Services.

1/4 @westjet I appreciate that these are unusual times and in light of the situation that flights change. However- update your process and/or staff your call centre appropriately! I am required (& what seems to be all #Westjet guests) to speak to an agent to make the change.

Patrick Lyons (@bestpoutine) 's Twitter Profile Photo

2/4 @westjet So after one dropped call and what is now 2 hrs+ on the phone on hold with a repeating message which insists that the ‘on hold’ website will solve all my problems, or try the automated agent “it can answer almost all your questions”, I am little annoyed.

Patrick Lyons (@bestpoutine) 's Twitter Profile Photo

3/4 @westjet How about an option to leave a call back number? Make an appointment by booking a time slot online? Or even indicate the wait time? Or that I am caller 25,000 and that I might want to call back in the 23rd century?

Patrick Lyons (@bestpoutine) 's Twitter Profile Photo

4/ 4 WestJet Seeing tweets from guests of 8 hours waiting on hold... is depressing – I hope that’s an exaggeration – otherwise I am thinking your process flowchart depends on guests giving up – which is brutal. You can do better than this. #geologictimeisfastcomparedtowestjet

An update on the @westjet on hold saga. I didn’t hang up overnight - and sometime around 5:10 am this morning, the call was dropped. We initiated the call at 8:30 pm on Tuesday. So back on hold - and its now been 11 hours of waiting for an agent.

Patrick Lyons (@bestpoutine) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Progress with @Westjet and the on hold saga. Total time was 11hrs, 40 min. I've spoke with an agent. She was very courteous & professional - especially given the circumstances and call volume. #thankyou
