We're only TWO DAYS away from the deadline for Society for U.S. Intellectual History proposals! Boston is gonna be a blast--you won't want to miss it. s-usih.org/2023/12/s-usih…

Excited to have picked up Benjamin Park’s new book - American Zion. Concurrently, I’m reading Richard Bushman’s Rough Stone Rolling for the summer. So excited!

You know what's cool? Supporting history organizations. You know what's also cool? Bigfoot. You know how you can blend both worlds? Order this super cool Journal of Mormon History/Bigfoot t-shirt that Mormon History Association is selling as part of a fundraiser. igiv.org/support/mha24/…

Last week Conroe ISD (my city) rejected a biology textbook because its chromosome section explained how DNA evidence was used to prove Thomas Jefferson fathered a child w/Sally Hemings. While absurd for any school district, it’s galling for the city that produced Annette Gordon-Reed.

So excited for my good friend and writing group teammate Dr. Lindsay M. Chervinsky to take over the George Washington Presidential Library at Mount Vernon. She's gonna do great things.

That book people are reading. And you know you want to. ‘American Zion’ by Benjamin Park

An honor to go on KUER's RadioWest to discuss Edward Tullidge. Listen to the story of a man who became a Mormon, deist, Mormon again, Godbeite, The Salt Lake Tribune founder, wrote Mormonism's first feminist history, and even joined the RLDS. It's a saga of evolving faith. radiowest.kuer.org/show/radiowest…

Recently, a Conroe ISD board member said it was "totally inappropriate" to teach students that Thomas Jefferson fathered children with Sally Hemings. I wrote for Houston Chronicle why such an indefensible position is especially absurd for this school district. houstonchronicle.com/opinion/outloo…

“I really feel like that’s completely inappropriate” to speak of a Founding Father in that way, Nelson insisted. Must-read essay by Benjamin Park on the attempt to shield children from learning historical facts about Thomas Jefferson in a Houston suburb. houstonchronicle.com/opinion/outloo…

From the brilliant minds that brought AMERICAN YAWP--Ben Wright & Joseph Locke--comes THE PALACE OF THUNDERING GODS. I'm privileged to serve on the advisory board of this open-access textbook of US relig history. Here's their solicitation for contributors. americanyawp.com/projects/the-p…

Just finished consuming ‘Kingdom of Nauvoo: The Rise and Fall of a Religious Empire on the American Frontier’ by Benjamin Park It was great, definitely more robust than my institute class on Nauvoo

Hey, Benjamin Park, you’re prominently displayed in the shop at the Eiteljorg Museum’s “Religion in the American West” exhibit here in Indianapolis! Attendees at the Religion & American Culture Biennial got a curated tour. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
