#Illinois hasn’t lost confidence all year; shouldn’t lose any tonight. Might move to a 7 if the score keeps up, but a 6-7 is fair for them. I don’t know why this happens vs Maryland — of all teams — every time. But, nations best starting lineup just got bench help tonight…rough

NEWS: VCU coach Ryan Odom has emerged as the target for the Virginia job, and a deal is expected to come together in the upcoming days, sources tell me and Jeff Borzello. He’s led VCU, Utah State and UMBC to the NCAA tournament in his career.

#Illinois: Xavier has had to work much harder on offense tonight than Illinois, but credit to them. They’ve made some tough shots. Love the Illini aggressiveness though. Energy is high, but it’s gotta continue for 40 minutes. Lots of open shots and easy offense right now.

#Illinois: It’s rare that such a contrast in free throw margin doesn’t even begin to describe the foul battle in a half. Xavier definitely the beneficiary of whistles here early, but Illinois faithful give a “ball don’t lie” cheer after Freemantle misses both.

#Illinois: Officiating aside, only being up 5 at half is slightly frustrating for the Illini. 8 turnovers and bad missed shots have hurt, not to mention Xavier got 2 crazy bounces on three pointers. Underwood and crowd were vocal about foul calls, gotta be careful to avoid a T

#Illinois: Atrocious start here in the second round. Kentucky is talented and athletic, but even Underwood said the turnovers are all unforced.

#Illinois: Jakucionis has done a lot of good for Illinois this season, but that mistake might’ve just ended any chance of a potential comeback.

The pitch challenge system worked flawlessly and quickly in Spring Training and then doesn’t get taken into the regular season. Orioles are up 2-0 in the third and could be a bit more after two pretty low strikes are called and MASN’s pitch zone shows both well below the zone.

Todd Golden got thoroughly outcoached, but sometimes having a more talented team matters. Haugh and Clayton have had some poor shot selection here down the stretch…and it didn’t matter one bit. Unbelievable shot making ability and they lead a game they most likely should not

#Patriots HC Mike Vrabel on the #Packers' proposal to ban the tush-push: “There are a lot of plays that are hard to defend. I don’t think you can get rid of them every time it becomes tough to stop it. Like, Lamar Jackson shouldn’t be able to run with the football anymore? How

Brad Underwood and Illinois now sporting an All-Balkan frontline so far with: 6'9 PF David Mirkovic (Montenegro) 7'2 PF/C Zvonimir Ivisic (Croatia) 7'1 C Tomislav Ivisic (Croatia) And they might not be done on the European front.

Trae young just showed the entire world why he is always “snubbed” from the first year of All-Star voting. Box score watchers would never know how lazy his defense is. Embarrassing end to his career to allow that offensive rebound after an inefficient day.
