#DYK...The #NezPerce moved through #YellowstoneNationalPark in late August of 1877. By August 26, they were making their way up Pelican Creek after crossing the Yellowstone River. #FindYourPark

#OTD the Nez Perce arrived at C'aynnim 'Alikinwaaspa (Place of the Manure Fire), now known as the Bear Paw Battlefield.The Snake Creek,a tributary of the Milk River,offered fresh water near where the bands camped and scouts were able to kill several bison for the hungry families.
