.@furbearers is taking BC to court over a chinchilla fur farm licence! Documents revealed the fur farm doesn’t have a health management plan, which is required by law As a result, @furbearers are suing the province & they have until the end of the month to respond to the lawsuit

There are 11 fur farms in BC 🤯 10 mink farms & 1 chinchilla farm. This industry is dying & being propped up by AgriStability to the tune of 6 million dollars between 2014-2020. Why isn’t this money being used in a way that doesn’t pose a threat to public health & the climate?

Public Health has now put in place restrictions to prevent more mink from being bred on farms & a moratorium on new mink farms. This is great! But not enough. Mink aren’t the only species of concern. The reasonable next step is to ban fur farming entirely. #BanFurFarmsBC
