Sian Griffiths Amanda Spielman Times Radio Ofsted Square Peg This story is framed in a particular way - as bad behaviour which needs to be controlled.Behaviour is a way that children demonstrate distress or show us things aren’t right in their life. What if we framed it as ‘Many of our kids are not OK. How can we improve things for them?’

We try not to do screens but I always had a pack of stuff for my kids to do - they’re bigger now so they both bring a book. If they (or we) don’t feel like chatting they’ll read or draw- I don’t actually think reading a book independently is that different than the screen!

Whatever your feelings of Harry and Meghan, I think it’s important to remember that Prince Andrew paid a woman £12 million pounds to stop calling him a nonce.

Lucy Huber I’ll never forget what my uncle said at a baby shower. “People will tell you ‘just wait’ & list off all kinds of negatives. But just wait until the first time they say ‘I love you.’ Just wait until you see them sticking up for someone else.” He listed off a dozen things like that

After a not seeing a panto for a few years because of Covid we decided to push the boat out and see Ian McKellen in mother Goose - it was brilliant and my kids loved it!

All this talk of a strike being damaging to children, I’ll tell you what is damaging to children: Not enough teachers Not enough money in schools Buildings in a state of disrepair Demoralised work force Loss of goodwill that keeps things going That will all do far more damage.

Many of the country’s councils can barely afford to keep libraries open, maintain public parks and cemeteries, run free school travel for special needs students, fix potholes, clean the streets, support the arts… the list goes on. A street party is the LEAST of their concerns.

I say that a mistake we are making in education is that we are pretending that young people are essentially all the same, and that their needs can be met with a standardised package of education. We treat them as blank slates, as buckets to be filled. 2/

They think that your child’s differences are BECAUSE you are parenting differently and don’t get that you parent differently BECAUSE of your child’s differences. 3/
