Excited to share our latest paper in Macromolecules — we used a two-stage semi-orthogonal photopolymer network for haze-free holography. Lots of fun working with Christopher Bowman’s group and learning from lead authors Yunfeng and Shafer! pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…

I'm stoked to see this work finally published! science.org/doi/10.1126/sc… We applied materials science and biophysical approaches to reveal how muscle cells align on mechanically anisotropic liquid crystalline polymer networks! Anseth Group R+PM Group

We had a blast at the Western Region SFB meeting hosted by Society for Biomaterials | CU Anschutz. Many thanks to @ChelseaMagin and FarnsworthLab for all their hard work as the symposium co-chairs. Special congrats to Matthew and Kaustav Bera from our lab, who won poster awards!

Thrilled to share my latest work, "Photochemical Control of Network Topology in PEG Hydrogels," now published in Advanced Materials Advanced Portfolio News. In this paper, we show how maleimide±styrene photochemistry affords configurable network architecture! onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ad…

Next up is a publication by the amazing⭐️ Anseth Group ⭐️. In this work, PEG-lipoic acid microgels are formed by inverse suspension polymerization, then photodeformed with UV light and photoinitiator. onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ad… #MAPgels #granularmatter #granulargels

It is a true honor to have been elected a Member of the National Academy of Medicine. This is in recognition of all of the fantastic trainees, collaborators, and colleagues and our push to develop new biomaterial-based clinical therapies. Thrilled to share our latest work in ACS Macro Journals, a very fun collab with my (social media-less) dear friend Josh Kamps in Christopher Bowman’s lab. We use DCM as a methylene source to form acetal-linked recyclable polymers and networks, including hugely scalable hydrogels. Link ⬇️!

🎉🥳 Congratulations to recent grad Nathaniel Skillin for his new paper assessing foreign body response and in vivo performance of implanted LCE nanocomposites! Nat found that these materials still actuate to >10% strains with transcutaneous NIR light after fibrous capsule formation.

Check out my talk tomorrow morning at #ACSSpring2025 at 10:40-11:05 in the Marriott Marquis Pacific Ballroom: Section 14. I'll be talking about an exciting multifunctional dithiolane monomer for recycling in additive manufacturing! ACS POLY Division ACS PMSE Division

Had a wonderful time presenting at #ACSSpring2025 in the Excellence in Graduate Polymer Research symposium, and I am honored to have received the outstanding abstract award! Thanks again to all the organizers for such a wonderful session and opportunity! ACS POLY Division ACS PMSE Division

Excited to share new work lead up by a mentee and dear friend of mine, John Rynk in Christopher Bowman lab published this week in ACS Applied Polymer Materials. We used a creative thiol-Michael kinetic selectivity to create new holographic materials! Link: doi.org/10.1021/acsapm…

Delighted to share our new work out in Polymer Chemistry. In this work we create a recyclable dithiolane monomer, capable of printing in 2 or 3D across various length scales. Check out the cool artwork we printed on the micron scale! doi.org/10.1039/D5PY00…
