Cape Town mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis held a media briefing in Hanover Park to highlight the justice system’s poor conviction rate related to illegal guns. The mayor also responded to questions about gang violence in the province being mentioned in the Oval Office last night.

‼️ While the DA may lead the City of Cape Town and the Western Cape, these two spheres of government have NO control over SAPS in the Province. Policing is a National Government competency and SAPS has been run by the ANC for the past 31 years.
