My first paper was published today in nature! Did you know a single gene family can distinguish every neuron type in C. elegans? nature.com/articles/s4158… #neurotwitter #celegans

Ubadah Sabbagh Th Ackerman lab is opening in July 2022 at WashU as part of the fabulous Center for Brain Immunology & Glia (brainimmunologygliacenter.wustl.edu). We study how glia cooperate to shape motor circuit plasticity, development, and disease in 🪰& 🐟. Hiring at all levels! DM if interested 😊

Our paper is up on biorxiv! We examine the spatio-temporal expression of all 41 zebrafish connexins - turns out most connexin have specific patterns of expression, and many tissues express unique combinatorial signatures of connexins (Connexinplexity!) biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

The final story from my graduate work in the Doe lab is out now in pre-print! We create a scRNAseq atlas of Drosophila embryogenesis across all somatic tissues, and move on to analysis of identity within a single neural stem cell lineage (NB7-1)

Meet the "Neural Diversity Lab"; cool people & excellent scientists. It is fun to work together to explore the mysteries of a fruit fly brain. Three new members have joined the lab recently; we need an updated version @krishnapatel89. See the Director @krishnapatel89 at the end.

Super excited to announce that I’ll be starting my lab Duke University this coming Summer! The ACR lab will study how the brain of an animal becomes active for the first time during development, and how this initial activity shapes brain function.

Our #SpotlightZebrafish this week is on Dr. Austin Seroka (Austin Seroka), a #postdoc with Cecilia Moens Fred Hutch Cancer Center. He uses zebrafish to study specification & development of the vagus nerve motor neurons and how these neurons choose and innervate organ targets. (1/2)
