We're a big supporter of this and will be at both events. Slowly trying to reduce the stigma around mental health. We will cover the cost of the ticket for any FCA member that wants to go. Just email Nick Adams with your membership number and he'll sort you out.

Yes, I know it’s a warm day but really, does the BBC need to spend some of the licence fee on having a live stream of London to show what a warm day it is. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Lovely. Except the budget for planting has been cut by 40% last year, there's a big problem with uncertainty over labour shortages and how much planting will actually happen. So where exactly will these trees be going?

Very clever stuff. Good to see technology used to save a tree and take some of the guesswork (and therefore possible mistakes) out of trees assessment. #positiveforestry

When I was writing Uncommon Ground, I heard over and over that if only people were able to see the countryside (because we’re locked out apparently) they would respect it. It’s nonsense - it’s so much more complicated than that and anyone who suggests otherwise is a fool

When it all just feels a bit too much - too loud, too hot, too rushed, too scary - it helps to return to the comfort and quiet of trees. Your worries might not disappear altogether, but for a moment or two you can forget they exist, when your mind is calmed by the whisper of

Today we've been cleaning a coupe planted 4 or 5 years ago to free the oak up. The alder is pruned and any coppice cut and windrowed to maintain access. Benefits all trees for growth and form. Aspect Forestry and Rural Management Johnathan Harpham Richard Negus what you boys been on? #positiveforestry

This is interesting. I've always had a gut feeling this method is the way to go; still get a mix of conifers with the added benefit of easy to plant and easy to harvest. Or easier anyway. More #positiveforestry

Ever since my teenage years in the 90’s I would always turn to David’s column first to see what his thoughts were on the latest topic or what was happening on his farm in Norfolk. Sad news and a great loss to the agricultural industry.

There has been a fantastic response to this survey so far. It closes in the next couple of days so if you haven't filled one out already, it's worth doing so. The more responses, the better the idea of what the problems are.
