Justice Abhay Oka's brave, upright journey ends in the crisis of credibility that Supreme Court is in the midst of today. One judge who consistently spoke the language of the common people, without bending to the will of the political executive. A grateful nation thanks you!

Has Justice Bela Trivedi been offered, and has she accepted, a post retirement plum post of West Bengal governor even before official retirement date in June 2025? Justice Oka said he won't accept any such posts. We can clearly see who cared for Constitution & who for executive

Why is the Supreme Court not releasing the in-house inquiry report in Yashwant Varma's case in the public domain? Isn't transparency crucial to uphold judicial independence & public confidence in the institution of the Supreme Court. Selective transparency is even more damaging!

Maharashtra police takes no action against Sanjay Nirupam for hate speech, but wants to jail 19-year old student for exercising freedom of speech & write her exam under police surveillance. All in name of national security. Bombay High Court rightly asks: what national interest!?

Ashish Goel (@ashish_nujs) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Maharashtra police demonized a 19 year old student for critical Instagram post on Operation Sindoor. Justice Somasekhar Sundaresan asked tough questions & ensured state doesn't get free hand. He is the same judge on whose file government was sitting tight for 3 years. We know why

Supreme Court has effectively suspended Article 19(1)(a) in case of Professor Ali Khan until the time SIT finds out if few words or sentences in a facebook post can threaten security & sovereignty of our country. These kinds of perverse interim orders are becoming very common

Lokpal, headed by Khanwilkar, has dismissed complaints against former SEBI chairperson! Cant trust an institution headed by former Supreme Court judge who doled out favourable verdicts to political executive, including upholding clean chit to Prime Minister Modi in Gujarat riots

Ashish Goel (@ashish_nujs) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Just wondering if the group of former civil servants who have come out in support of Professor Ali Khan took prior permission of Justice Surya Kant or not. We were told anyone who dares to question the state on the absurd political FIR must first obtain speech license from court

Ashish Goel (@ashish_nujs) 's Twitter Profile Photo

So one-sided coercive contempt orders are back? Supreme Court should have broad shoulders. Haven't seen the clip but is court's majesty so fragile that YouTube clip on Justice Bela Trivedi can deface it. Btw, what action has court taken in Justice Shekhar Yadav's hate speech case

Did Chief Justice Gavai publicly acclaim Adityanath as the most hardworking & powerful Chief Minister in the country? If yes, highly unethical in many ways. Doesn't bode well for an independent judiciary when a sitting Chief Justice heaps public praise on a sitting Chief Minister

Ashish Goel (@ashish_nujs) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Absolutely unconstitutional to criminalize speech! Nobody should go to jail for simply expressing views & no topic should be eliminated from discussion, mockery or criticism. Not even religion! Hate speech only exception but no one seems to be going to jail for inciting violence

Will Calcutta High Court take sou moto cognizance of the inflammatory speech made by the Home Minister in Kolkata? Just asking

Ashish Goel (@ashish_nujs) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Citizens unsuccessfully plead for 30 mins to get interim bail in absurd, political FIR, while mighty state depriving liberty has to simply say "I am opposing" & constitutional courts oblige. That's the level of importance courts give to rights. From Magistrate to Supreme Court

Ashish Goel (@ashish_nujs) 's Twitter Profile Photo

In Professor Ali Khan's matter, Justice Surya Kant said: speak and express but in a neutral manner. The same people who were celebrating that day have a problem with how Calcutta High Court dealt with Sharmistha's matter today. Free speech for my folks, censorship for yours?

Ashish Goel (@ashish_nujs) 's Twitter Profile Photo

I am now absolutely certain that Justice Gavai, as Chief Justice, will stop live streaming of court proceedings. If he doesn't do it, Justice Surya Kant, as the next Chief Justice, will do it. But transparency in court proceedings will end sooner or later.

Why does Chief Justice Gavai have to mention Yogi and Modi in his weekend lectures? What has Yogi or Modi got to do with the Indian Constitution? He must be living under a rock if he can't see the flagrant examples of constitutional subversion by Modi and Yogi in recent years

Ashish Goel (@ashish_nujs) 's Twitter Profile Photo

So according to Allahabad High Court, a person can be criminally prosecuted for simply calling Prime Minister a coward but a judge of the same High Court who gave hate speeches will continue to sit on the bench and perform judicial functions despite indictment by Supreme Court?

Ashish Goel (@ashish_nujs) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Yogi's favourite judge gives hate speech and gets away because Supreme Court 'drops plan' to initiate disciplinary inquiry after Rajya Sabha's assertion. Is this why these proceedings aren't made public? So that court can initiate or drop inquiry at will? At executive's behest?

As someone who takes a flight every other day, I am absolutely devastated. Can imagine what the families are going through. We need to fix accountability. Why don't human lives matter in India?

Ashish Goel (@ashish_nujs) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Mr. Home Minister, please stop talking gibberish! Government has direct accountability in preventing deaths, injuries, accidents, crashes etc! Please resign if you can't ensure safety and security of citizens
