This is so important from Dr Jamilla Hussain She's not an opponent of Assisted Dying, but she has profound concerns about the Bill before our Westminster Parliament. Please read, think, share with your MP. Easy way to find your MP ⬇️

Well done to these courageous medical students, who have put their heads above the parapet on #AssistedDying, recognising the Bill will fundamentally change their role “As future doctors, we may not yet be the voice of this profession, but we will be. And we are asking to be

Stella Creasy lied to the British public claiming that 8 month babies are not viable She is now pushing to legalise abortion up to birth using this misinformation She must be stopped!

The current version of the assisted bill is weaker, practical problems with it more evident & dangers of coercion, pressure & expansion are greater. Excellent article by Prof Jones of Anscombe Bioethics Centre for Politeia today.

It is only a choice if patients have equal access to palliative care and hospice beds if needed. This is not the case now, and there is no reason to believe things would improve if #AssistedDying is legalised. GPs and palliative care consultants have repeatedly raised concerns on

Longish summary of responses to points offered on my timeline for full decriminalisation of abortion, even up to birth, using at-home abortion pills for non-medical reasons (which has just been voted for, absolutely crazily imo, by UK MPs) a) You may not be able to know or say

More concerns about risk to victims of domestic abuse from the #AssistedDying bill. From Rising Sun Charity ‘In the bill’s current drafting, there are insufficient measures taken to prevent abuse and to ensure the protection of survivors. A one off two-day domestic abuse course

‘The stakes could not be higher — once passed, the harm cannot be undone. MPs must reject this bill and support a Parliamentary Commission to ensure any future law is grounded in compassion, evidence, and the equal value of every life.’ #AssistedDying Kim Leadbeater MBE MP

Well worth reading this doctor's concerns. As she says, 'Nuance is reduced to slogans.' Moreover, if this Bill becomes Law, we will almost certainly have people on commission to persuade people to opt for death - that's what commercial provision will lead to.

Is your mum or your dad squandering your inheritance on ‘Care’ home fees simply because of fear of the unknown? Contact us at Whispering Glades, and one of our counsellors will befriend them, and persuade them to take the easy way out. Modest fees, payment only on results.

Looking forward to tomorrow's meeting of Thinking Environment practitioners who work in or with Higher Education. We've been meeting virtually for a while, but this will be our first in-person meeting. Lots of very different applications to discuss, across many Universities.

Off to London today for a Thinking Environment workshop at Imperial. Luckily I checked the trains first thing, so we did a lightning dash across country to Darlington, to pick up the East Coast line…
