Cutting today: This animal is from one of the first herds of Belted Galloways in north Norfolk. The animals have been bred especially to manage the marshes and meadows of the Norfolk Wildlife trust.

The introduction of the cattle to the marshes the cattle have enabled access of the public to the marshes to experience nature. They have also meant that rare plant species like orchids have made a come back in the area as well as a designated site for rare ground nesting birds.

The animal was born in 2015 and since hasn’t been treated with any antibiotics or chemicals. They have been solely grass fed with no hard manufactured feed in their diet. During the harsher winter months they have been supplemented with hay and silage produced on the farm.
