On June 30, 1974, Alberta Williams King was assassinated 6 years after her son MLK Jr. was gunned down in Memphis. She was killed while playing The Lord's Prayer at the organ at church. Instead of devolving to hate, Martin Luther King III's family decided to lean into love.

When we're tired and we feel defeated, we have to rely on our personal sources of inspiration to empower, renew and restore us to keep pushing forward.

While studying hate crimes I learned that, more often than not, the perpetrators of hate crimes were driven by inherited biases that they never questioned. We can break this cycle. Unlearn the hate, educate yourself, and let's work together to build a Beloved Community.
