With sub-freezing temps outside and playoff football in the background, we’re jumping back to 2019, the year of the 61st GRAMMYs. Archeophone had *three* nominations for Best Album Notes and Album of the Year went to “Golden Hour” by Kacey Musgraves. Stay warm, y’all!

Tonight we’re playing the 63rd Album of the Year GRAMMY winner: “Folklore” by Taylor Swift, awarded March 14, 2021 in the thick of the pandemic. Most awards were announced via Zoom and Archeophone was up for 3. So we dressed up, Zoomed in, then went out for a burger after losing.

Tonight we’re spinning “Harry’s House” by Harry Styles, winner of Album of the Year at the 65th #GRAMMY Awards held on February 5, 2023 in LA. Harry prevailed in a remarkable field of TEN nominees. Besides the single, “As It Was,” this one is all new for us, and it’s fun.

We’ve been burning the candle at both ends, getting near the finish line of our upcoming box set. Listened to CD 3 (of 4) for QA, then paused to listen to the newly-minted Album of the Year winner, “Midnights” by Taylor Swift. Read more on our FB page: facebook.com/photo/?fbid=74…

In honor of Juneteenth, here's a look at our upcoming 7" single, "Genius of the Seventh Ward" by "Creole of color" Louis Vasnier. From 1891, "Thompson's Old Gray Mule" is the earliest extant recording made in New Orleans and arguably the oldest country music record in existence.
