Growing up, Mom said many times that we have to work twice as hard as white people just to be seen as equal to them. How much was riding on Chadwick to execute the role of T'Challa for the film's success? To make possible roles/films like that for other Black actors? He did it.

It is that familiar, uneasy mix of pride in his brilliance, and bitterness at the unfairness. And just enormous respect and gratitude. Rest easy, brother 💔

Justice for Breonna Taylor would actually mean Breonna was alive, with us, perhaps unknown to us in a sea of Black folks in the world. Pigs in a cage ain't justice, that's liminal harm. It's (been) time to acknowledge the failures carcerality forces us to settle for/accept.
