Had a great time in San Francisco on spring break this week! Best part was getting to finally see Seesaw HQ in person. Everyone was AMAZINGLY welcoming, and I enjoyed chatting with Mila! Thanks for a great visit.

10 years ago this girl sat in my class, just as scared to start her first year of third grade as I was to start my first year. Now she’s speaking at commencement! Congratulations, Deanna! #ISD200

Got back into the swing this week! We worked hard at building our classroom community and got to know each other using @AndyLeiser created Seesaw activities involving emojis. Take a look at some of our work:

I know I haven’t tweeted in a while, but seeing #thelorax trending with banned books, I felt like Twitter needs to find out about this gem: woodfloors.org/truax.pdf This is an actually published book. I bought a copy a few years ago and used to read it to my students w/the Lorax.

A2 I love using Activities as an assessment tool. I just tag them with the grade level standard in the Skills area, and I have built in proof of standards. #SeesawChat

A3 if you want proof of meeting a standard, nothing beats this. Everyone I’ve shown is blown away at how easy it is. #SeesawChat x.com/andylarson36/s…

A7 Being able to make a flipped video for most of the class to watch while working with a few of my G/T students to get them going on a challenge activity has been a real time saver. #SeesawChat

My favorite part about #SeesawChat is it reenergizes me and gets me excited for new ideas. Sometimes all it takes is sitting down and thinking about it explicitly.

Most people (I believe) use flipped instruction backwards. They use it for the G/T group while teaching the whole class. Flipped instruction should be used to make time for you to meet with small groups who benefit from extra in-person interaction. x.com/andylarson36/s…

So glad that Dairy Queen has the #smores blizzard back. We’ve been waiting two years for it to return. #neverleaveagain #dairyqueen #smoresblizzard
