Interesting: Mayor Muriel Bowser and Office of Unified Communications are launching a new public awareness campaign to discourage people from calling 911 for non-emergencies. In FY24, OUC handled 1.2 million 911 calls, and they say that almost a fourth of these calls were non-emergencies.

Fence will be going up soon + road closures. Huge impact for bus routes & access. Here’s your maps for January 6th Electoral Count & then January 7-9 for President Carter funeral. And if there’s ❄️ on Monday the 6th, Capitol Grounds will be closed to 🛷 due to the Jan 6 security

There has been a lot of focus on the District’s budget due to an effort in Congress to force the District to cut 1 billion dollars in spending 6 months into the fiscal year. Budgets can be complicated, so to combat confusion I’d like to introduce “The District Budget, 101 pt 1”.

CM Christina Henderson (@cmchenderson) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Part 2 of “The District Budget, 101” focuses on the impacts of the continuing resolution that would require the District of Columbia to cut 1$ billion dollars from its current fiscal budget. These impacts are real and would be devastating to the District.
