The absolute fundamental for a thriving future is innovation. We CANNOT innovate appropriately without young people. Therefore, the absolute fundamental for a thriving future is one properly informed by the innovation of young people. Genuine youth leadership = fundamental.

Excited to announce that I have been invited to contribute to this year's World Education Summit, to talk about 'Enabling young people to be the voice of tomorrow, today'. Keen to talk about ideas of youth-led, co-agency.

Ruth Perry’s tragic death shines a focused beam on the desperate need to reform inspection of schools. It’s ludicrous to suggest one word judgements on a school are helpful to parents. Time to start anew and ensure inspection is focused on helping schools and pupils to excel.

I was blown away by the student activism happening at Fairfield High School! It was so refreshing to see how comfortable the students were being themselves and standing for what they believe in, such a rare find in secondary school education. #Identitymatters #youthvoice

Twice weekly, students, staff, and volunteers attend School Meeting, where all big and small decisions are made collaboratively. This is where students learn what it takes to be a member of a healthy community. Every person, regardless of age, gets one vote.

Schools don't see the daily struggles families face at home. Children might present as 'fine' in school, but then at home they feel safe enough to unmask. Parents then see meltdowns, tears, door slamming, dissociation... We must always listen & show compassion & understanding.

I defy any secondary teacher to tell me they’ve never had a lesson like this. If you haven’t and it happens at your school are you helping to fix the culture? ‘They behave for me’ is a shameful thing to say. It also made me think of all those supply teachers who face this daily.

Big ❤️ to everyone doing their GCSEs and A-Levels !! All you can do is your best and have faith in knowing - that is enough✨ Since I did my GCSEs, only 1 person has asked for my grades and that was my brother, so he could see if he did better🤣 You’ve got this🫶🏼✨

We're raising funds to support young working-class people access support for their mental health and wellbeing. We shouldn't have to. But we do. If you can spare any money towards our campaign, please visit the link in the RECLAIM post. Many thanks in advance 🙏

Parents: The crisis in teacher retention and recruitment is leading to some schools planning to group 60 children to one teacher. We are returning to Victorian classroom numbers. Please put pressure on the govt to fund schools adequately. This teacher-pupil ratio is unsafe.

So sad to read about the negative backlash for 'radical' sex ed lessons for kids, of course, led by right-wing newspapers. If it makes sense to teach basic mathematics and build up to algebra, then why doesn't the same thing make sense for sex ed among other real-life topics!
