Oh my god, my heart dropped. This is epistemicide. These aren't just books; they are part of one's identity, preserving knowledge, culture, and history. Destroying them erases entire worlds and silences voices that define who Palestinians are and their roots

Every time a liberal academic who failed to speak up about Palestine talks about the value of knowledge remember these images. It isn't good enough to be well-meaning and nice and avoid conflict - and there are so many of these people.

I still think about this photo often. Abdul Nasser Awad was a respected teacher & Imam. He, in the centre of this photo, surrounded by his grandchildren were all murdered. Lineages are being wiped out. There are no words that can describe this extermimation of human life.
