Oh my god, my heart dropped. This is epistemicide. These aren't just books; they are part of one's identity, preserving knowledge, culture, and history. Destroying them erases entire worlds and silences voices that define who Palestinians are and their roots

Every time a liberal academic who failed to speak up about Palestine talks about the value of knowledge remember these images. It isn't good enough to be well-meaning and nice and avoid conflict - and there are so many of these people.

Because of the occupation, I was born outside of Lebanon. We were finally able to come back home 23rd of May 2000. My dad took us straight to our village Khiam. I was too young to understand what was happening, but I remember the joy of those days. That finally the south was free

On Resistance and Liberation Day, I always remember my late grandfather who was expelled from Hunin in 1948. On the 25th of May, 2000, my grandfather stood on the outskirts of Hunin, which remained occupied, looked at it through binoculars, and cried and cried and cried...

I still think about this photo often. Abdul Nasser Awad was a respected teacher & Imam. He, in the centre of this photo, surrounded by his grandchildren were all murdered. Lineages are being wiped out. There are no words that can describe this extermimation of human life.
