🚨New Paper Alert! Over 8 years in the making (including 2 in peer review 😬) - I could not be happier to share our genome-wide association study of #HumanMilk Oligosaccharides in the CHILD Cohort Study - published today in Nature Communications. 🧬🤱🏻🫁 #Tweetorial 🧵 nature.com/articles/s4146…

New CHILD research in Nature Communications sheds light on links among mother’s genes, #breastmilk sugars & her baby’s lung health Prof. Meghan Azad, PhD University of Manitoba CHRIM @Dr_LarsBode UC San Diego Queen's University Qingling Duan ComputationalGenomicsLab @MOMI_CORE childstudy.ca/moms-genes-hmo…

Lucky for CHILD, Qingling Duan joined the team to lead our genomics efforts, resulting in this important Nature Communications article Thanks to the INSPIRE Study & funders CIHR Research Manitoba CFI / FCI

Another CHILD-powered research collaboration of Prof. Meghan Azad, PhD University of Manitoba Qingling Duan Queen's University in Cell Host & Microbe links mom's genomics to #breastmilk microbiome & child's allergy/asthma risk

I'm excited to share a new research paper, in collaboration with Prof. Meghan Azad, PhD and CHILD Cohort Study, out today in Cell Host & Microbe! We report that host genomics are associated with human milk microbiota, which may in turn influence risk of asthma and allergies in milk-fed children.

New CHILD research in Cell Host & Microbe shows #breastmilk microbes are shaped by mom’s genes & influence her child’s asthma/allergy risk - another great collaboration of Prof. Meghan Azad, PhD University of Manitoba CHRIM Queen's University Qingling Duan ComputationalGenomicsLab @MOMI_CORE childstudy.ca/breastmilk-mic…

More good stuff about how #breastfeeding benefits babies' health: it shapes a baby's #microbiome & protects against asthma. New research from CHILD in Cell: Prof. Meghan Azad, PhD University of Manitoba & Liat Shenhav New York University childstudy.ca/breastfeeding-…

A new study co-led by UM researcher Prof. Meghan Azad, PhD, and @NYU shows that breastfeeding duration influences infant microbiome and respiratory development, offering new insights into asthma protection. Learn more: news.umanitoba.ca/new-study-reve… #UManitoba #UMResearch

🚨New Paper Alert🚨 Our new #microbiome research, co-led with Liat Shenhav, published today in Cell! We show that #breastfeeding "paces" gut & nasal microbiome development to prevent #asthma in the CHILD Cohort Study. #Tweetorial 🧵 cell.com/cell/fulltext/…
