Thanks Brittany Charlton @MadinaAgenor for organizing this #APHA2020 session letting us geek out about LGBTQ res methods! Terrific presentations + great audience questions. Missed seeing everyone in person but it turns out the virtual conf format can still feel warm & connected. ๐
โSociopolitical involvement is a source of resilience for LGBTQIA+ and other marginalized groupsโ -brilliant talk on new National Academies LGBTQI Report by Dr. Angelique Harris of Boston U Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine at #APHA2020. Great reminder that public health is political!
Trump is ahead in Fla by less than 400K votes but itโs NOT a red state. 774K people in Fla. are disenfranchised ONLY because of unpaid fines. In Feb., an appeals court ruled 6-4 that Fla. felons canโt vote until they pay all of their fines 5 of the judges were Trump appointees
โYes, people have to take responsibility for their decisions, but you have to give people an environment in which the decisions that are good for them arenโt so hard.โ The Boston Globe Dasia Moore
Upcoming opportunities to learn from the brilliant Dr. Jasmine Abrams!

Amplifying for #pride. Led by the brilliant @BiancaDMW of Williams Institute. Wonderful to work on something expressly focused on cis and trans LBQ girls and women! Even as it shows much work to be done. Hope it serves as a jumping off point for future research and policy efforts.
