My latest field research trip went to the The National Archives to study recently declassified documents. After a week in London I return with tremendous knowledge gains about the integration of the former GDR into the European Community.

About 70 government documents from Kohl's chancellorship disappeared. Great loss of knowledge that also affects my research. Government documents should be kept in the Das Bundesarchiv and be accessible to the public after declassification. spiegel.de/politik/deutsc…
