Thoughts and prayers with the media narrative setters this morning, denied another day of “the rise and rise of Reform” as their main talking point

Interesting. And a Good Thing. That this is being leaked and framed as 'giving the Marbles away' without any mention of a quid pro quo (there will be, including return loans) reveals the row to come.

It is Pentecost: tongues of fire lit up the disciples and filled with the Holy Spirit they understood each others’ cacophony. It’s the opposite of X, at the Babel end of the Biblical comms spectrum. Come Holy Ghost, our souls inspire, and lighten with celestial fire.

Taken exactly 97 years ago this month - in June 1928 - this beautiful autochrome study of a German garden in Baden is a wondrous riot of colour. I just love the 'twenties outfit with cloche hat and aqua marine scarf! It is all original colour, not colourised. 😍

Goodnight from Flo Haskins, taking shelter in her neighbour’s house after another poltergeist tantrum that’s gone too far. Goodnight from Tuesday Cole, climbing up the Red Horse hill figure to sleep upon its ochre clay belly in hope of surefooted dreams. Goodnight from Hookland.

Last night I ate some oyster mushrooms. At 3am, my body decided it would rather I hadn’t. I shan’t go into details but my sanitary ware was involved. Today, I feel extremely delicate, but am very glad I made it to a friend’s house for a fantastic home concert. And what a garden!

Goodnight from Beth Brooks, collecting bog moss by full moon to staunch the wounds Marlow’s annual folk football game alwaysbrings. Goodnight from Kristen Salter, wondering what the Drowned Dead count to send them to sleep in absence of submerged sheep. Goodnight from Hookland.

I really love this autochrome portrait of two Afghan men, photographed by Stéphane Passet in Peshawar (now in present-day Pakistan), in January 1914. I'm sure they felt a million dollars in their embroidered bling. It is original colour from 111-years-ago, not colourised.
