The #IRS is awesome. We got a refund in 2021 and now receive a notice that we owe over $3700 in taxes from that year that has ran up over $600 in interest and penalties and this is the first notice we’ve received. How do you get a refund and then owe money years after the fact?

This is the time where I realize how terrible our healthcare system is in the US. If you can help, please do.
