I wrote this piece on SEO strategy 2 years ago. It got maybe 4 likes when it was sent out. Ppl even told me I wrote a completely irrelevant and useless piece on SEO strategy. But 2 years later 50+ people have liked the piece. I should do something with the framework...

Tried it for "Controlling search engine indexing": en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia… 17 million visits in the last 12 months and a 20% YoY increase. Wowza.

Sigh. My pSEO website performance. I've done nothing to it. 70% of it's deindexed. I'd expect site-wide signals keeping this bad boy down, but it's not happening. It just keeps getting stronger.

Anyone else noticed links in AI Overviews that link to external websites? Not linking to its own search results? Or is this not new? Googled it but everything just says it links to search results.

Erm...they do use Chrome data as a signal for ranking. Part of the Ranking Signals (Curves) section of the doc. Popularity signal. Is that the "Chrome visits" we saw in the leaked API docs?
