Late summer is a great time to adopt a drain! By keeping falling 🍂’s out of your drain you can help keep our waterways clean. While a small amount of leaves are ok, just 5 bags worth can deliver 1 lb of phosphorous to a water body and result in up to 1,000 lbs of algae blooms.

We agree with Aristotle! Getting outside in the winter is the best way to appreciate its beauty.✨We can still protect our most important resource in the winter! Clearing your storm drain of snow, ice, and debris in winter helps to prevent localized flooding and water pollution.

Sing along to purple rain, don't make purple snow! Salt isn't our only ❄️ removal tool and it shouldn't be the 1st one we use. Get out there with your shovels and scrapers. The more snow you clear manually, the less salt you’ll need. Do it for clean water and do it for #Prince!💜

Clear snow right away!❄️ If left unattended snow may freeze to pavement and be harder to remove. This could lead to using salt and deicers that would otherwise be unnecessary. A broom, shovel or even a leaf blower are great tools to remove snow.👍
