Enjoyed a seawatch at Neist Point this morning in a SE gale. Bit of a trek down to the lighthouse. Juv Sabine's Gull the highlight, but also a few skuas, 2 Sooty Shearwaters, 25 Short-beaked Common Dolphins and a Basking Shark. #skye

Finding a swift on a Scottish island after SE winds does get you a little excited, but not for long😉. Common, but not too common on the Isle of Skye in September!

A F5 SW wind was just right to channel big numbers of migrants past the Obs. A bonus raptor made for an enjoyable morning. Counts here: trektellen.org/count/view/107… NorthYorksBirdNews

Another failed attempt to find anything in the gullies yesterday but did manage a patch first...BASKING SHARK sailed south mid-morning. A ringtail Hen Harrier north over the sea was a bonus. #longnab #Scarborough NorthYorksBirdNews

SHETLAND trip started well with great views of the 1w male SIBERIAN THRUSH at Loch of Asta. Leaking wellies were an issue for a few on this twitch!😬. Now for a week on Out Skerries.

So glad so many connected with the #longnab drake Black Scoter to the north of me this morning. A few clinching photos unlike mine! Only the second Yorkshire record. The NE seawatch whatsapp group worked well👌 #Scarborough NorthYorksBirdNews BirdGuides

Fantastic to catch up with this Black Scoter flying north this morning, my 318th species in the Borough of Hartlepool (from a total species list of 341). Many thanks to Long Nab Birder🇺🇦 for the heads-up 👌
