My cintiq has been making a loud metal scraping noise that vibrated through the screen. Its way passed warranty & I don't have money to get it repaired. Well I got the tools, time, and youtube. But if I fuck it up, that's $2000 gone

I had to scrape through reddit & diy repair sites to figure out how to even open it up. The wacom cintiq pro 24 has hidden screws and had to be opened by wedging a plastic card between the case and the glass panel. Scary All to get this thing

Turns out the fan blade would slightly tilt when I would blow air into it, causing it to scrape against the metal case until it stopped. Used tiny brushes and some oil to clean inside the sleeve bearing, thinking there might be dust in there Dirty as hell man

Cintiqs been running for 2 hours now hooked up to my laptop. No more crazy fan noise, no overheat, dead pixels & nothing broken. I am proud, humbled, and tired
