Believe it or not this pt is very much alive, but looking at this monitor under normal circumstances it would be full tilt squeaky bum time. This was taken during the “suspended animation” phase of a PTE procedure, where the pt is cooled to 20°C under full circulatory arrest

This also rings true in nursing care. Very often there is a missing piece of simple information that could improve a patients care or aid in the holistic assessment of a patients. However, external pressures (e.g. heavy workload) can obscure it from view.

Any advice for a nurse wanting to gain clinical experience in pre-hospital settings for future #HEMS / #PHEM qualifications? 🚁 Currently based in the southwest!

Would be great to see all clinical staff have more of a say over what they wear. A lot of the current styles of uniform are outdated and uncomfortable. There’s seems to be a prioritisation of the aesthetic of nursing/AHP uniform over its practicality and comfort.
