It was a beautiful day as the first cohort of OPDs completed their course and graduated yesterday. Rolling out the W.H.O Quality Rights for mental health. Special thanks to all the organizations that made this happen. #cbmglobaldisabilityinclusion qualityrights.org.zw

A brave, beautiful personal story from Simphiwe Dana describing her experiences of living with depression, leaving expectations of “stoicism” behind and finding help. A powerful message as we #TalkAboutMentalHealth. #SAMentalHealth CPMH

In many countries where basic rights & services are solely lacking, we have the situation where persons with psychosocial disabilities are shackled, chained & incarcerated by the state or their family, against most fundamental rights & laws - sometimes indefinitely Paul Deany

It is true that the term Psychosocial Disability is not yet understood in many parts of the world, therefore the need to educate the masses more on #mentalhealth, #mentalillness & Psychosocial Disability is great. As the NAPPD we pledge to play a major role in this area.

Emma is a 35 year old woman with psychosocial disability. She experiences lots of barriers and ignorance because people can’t find her disability at first sight. “When you look at me, it doesn’t look like I have a disability and I seem to be invisible.” internationaldisabilityalliance.org/covid19-usa

Emma experiences post-traumatic stress disorder and social anxiety which means that seeing her psychologist is vital for her mental wellbeing. “I don’t receive any support except speaking to my psychologist via telehealth and this is not helpful.” internationaldisabilityalliance.org/covid19-usa
